How fast can a locksmith be at my door in Amsterdam?

Our locksmiths are spread across the city, so we are usually with you within 20 to 30 minutes. At night and during rush hour it can take slightly longer, and we always tell you a realistic time on the phone.

What does it cost to open a door?

Accepted Answer

Door opening costs EUR 120 to EUR 170 during the day and EUR 170 to EUR 220 at night, including VAT, the call-out charge and standard fitting. The final price is confirmed on site after we inspect the lock.

Do you open doors without damage?

Accepted Answer

Whenever the lock allows it we choose the damage-free method, so your cylinder can stay in use. If drilling is the only option we tell you first and offer a new certified cylinder straight away.

Do I have to prove that I live there?

Yes. Before we open a door we always ask for identification and proof that you are entitled to access the property. That protects you as much as it protects us.

Which locks do insurers in the Netherlands require?

Most insurers require SKG two star rated locks. SKG three star gives a longer burglary delay and is recommended for ground floor doors and easily reachable entrances.

What is cylinder pulling?

Cylinder pulling is the most common break-in method in Amsterdam: the cylinder is gripped and pulled out of the door in seconds. Anti-pull hardware combined with the right cylinder closes that route.

Can several locks work with one key?

Yes. We can key your front door, back door and storage alike, so one key opens everything. You receive a key card so copies can only be made with your permission.

Do you also work at night and on public holidays?

We answer the phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays. Night rates apply between 18:00 and 08:00.

Do I get an invoice for my insurer or landlord?

Accepted Answer

Always. You receive a specified invoice with the work carried out and the materials used, plus photos on request, which is usually enough for an insurance claim.
